Packway Materials Sculpture Park is a very unique art exhibition, visible from a public road in the mountains near Hat Creek in Shasta County. Two brothers who run a local construction company created the sculptures at Packway, made from a variety of building materials and unusual ingredients.
Cassel is a small unincorporated community located in Shasta County, in the northeastern part of California, near the base of the Cascade Range and Mount Shasta. It's part of the Shasta-Trinity National Forest area. Its population is 207 as of the 2020 census.
Cassel Campground is a quiet, popular spot in the Hat Creek Valley east of Burney, offering shaded campsites for tents and RVs. The area is particularly popular for lure fishing in Hat Creek and in nearby Crystal Lake and Baum Lake. McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial Park is just 12 miles to the north and Lassen Volcanoes National Park is 34 miles to the south.
